Set your Launch Sparkhive

January 4th, 2006

Save time by setting as your Launch Sparkhive, the file you’re currently working on.

Your Launch Sparkhive is the file that is open when you log in.
It’s also the default choice when you >Spark! a webpage, so having this set correctly can save you accidentally adding the link to the wrong Sparkhive.

You can change this and many more features in the Settings menu.

Summarize to Emphasize

December 13th, 2005

Clicking the ‘Edit Summary’ button just under the Sparkhive’s title will take you to the Summary page for that Sparkhive.
A Summary is a small text file that you can archive on the same page as your Sparkhive, either above or below it. If you’re making your Sparkhive in order to share information with other people, you can use the Summary to give a more general overview of what the Sparkhive’s about, or add it at the end to come to a conclusion.
Alternatively, you don’t need to publish it at all and can just keep it as a notepad for yourself.

Lost your >Spark! ?

Using the >Spark! button makes creating Sparkhives one-click-easy.
You can find it in theSettings menu, along with help on how to use it.

Tabbed Browsing

December 13th, 2005

When you click on a link you’ve created, be sure to middle-click (PC or Linux) or cmd-click (Mac) to open it in a new tab.
Having multiple windows opening is a pain, but working with multiple tabs in one window is a joy.
All the modern browsers support tabbed browsing - Firefox, Mozilla or Safari and they can all be downloaded for free, so why do it the hard way?
